Special Education Supervisor and Special Projects Coordinator
1. Pennsylvania Certification in Special Education
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience working in Special Education
3. Master’s Degree in the area of Special Education
4. Pennsylvania Supervisory Certification in Special Education
5. Pennsylvania Principal’s Certification, preferred
6. Significant knowledge, background, and experience with Pennsylvania Special Education Laws and Mandates, Pennsylvania Gifted Education Laws and mandates, and 504 Service Plan Laws and Regulations, as well as federal laws related to special education, preferred
7. PA Driver’s license and reliable transportation required for travel throughout Allegheny County
8. Excellent written and oral communication skills
9. Demonstrated leadership skills
10. Strong organizational skills
11. Ability to build trust and positive working relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholder groups
12. Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues
13. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
14. Ability to comply with AIU policies and procedures
Additional Requirements:
1. Current Act 114, Act 34, Act 151 and NSOR clearances are required prior to an offer (Must be dated within 1 year of hire date).
2. School Personnel Health Record (Form H511.340 (8/2011)) must be completed and received by Human Resources prior to hire date.
